As President of Liberty Reach, Robert “Bob” Berry brings a great deal of expertise to the role in both the day to day, as well as establishing company goals and strategic direction while providing visionary leadership for the organization. Bob started his career at General Motors Corporation where he held various positions throughout the organization. In particular his focus was on dimensional engineering, design for manufacturing, and quality. From there, Bob served as the vice president and general manager at the Troy-based technology firm, QMC Inc. Bob also obtained his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering technology, and an M.B.A. degree with a concentration in Finance. In his spare time Bob enjoys golfing, skiing, running, and getting involved in his community.
Neil Haven has worked in the vision industry since 1985 and in the process has helped found three companies, as well as served in several management and engineering roles. Neil specializes in designing real-time algorithms for vision applications. Neil earned his B.S. degree in Physics from Michigan State University and also studied linguistics and artificial intelligence at Stanford University. Neil then moved on to study bioinformatics and computer science at Indiana University. A long-time resident of Lansing, MI, Neil enjoys rock climbing and mixed martial arts.
A veteran of the machine vision industry with over 30 years experience, Myron Czubko sits as Liberty Reach’s vice president of sales & business development. Previously Myron led Autospect Corporation to 10 years of growth and profitability as the co-founder and chief architect, before selling it to Perceptron. Following this, Myron founded Fiberdent Corporation in 1998 to bring machine vision to the dental industry. Myron has also held positions at QUISS GmbH and INOS Automation. Myron received a B.S. in industrial operations engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he now resides, which helps feed his love of Michigan Football.
Alex Tompkins is highly experienced in managing sales departments in a variety of industries. Alex previously led high-performing teams in Automotive Detailing, Hospitality, and Logistics. He is passionate about developing effective sales strategies and leading people to create a successful and cohesive work culture. He earned his degree in Business Management from Eastern Michigan University. In his free time, Alex loves to play basketball, go to the movies, and watch/attend all Detroit Sports (yes, that includes the Detroit Lions).
Liberty Reach is pleased and excited to have Mr. Rick Berry serve as an advisory board member. Rick was the founder and President of Demand Force, a leading web-based marketing and communications technology company based in San Francisco, CA. Mr. Berry took the company from startup to a run rate of $60M in annual sales and 300 employees in less than 7 years. In April 2012, Mr. Berry sold Demand Force to Intuit Inc. for $424M. Prior to founding Demandforce, he was the Senior Vice President of OnStation, a $50 million venture backed customer relationship management (CRM) company. At OnStation, Berry was responsible for sales and business development where he closed strategic relationships with NAPA Auto Parts, American Automobile Association (AAA) and Progressive Insurance, among others. Prior to joining OnStation, he started the automotive division of Trilogy Software whose customers included Ford Motor Company, Toyota, Chrysler, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Renault and Berry earned a BA in Computer Science from Butler University and a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business.
Liberty Reach is pleased and excited to have Mr. John Gordon serve as an advisory board member. Mr. Gordon was employed by State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, from October 1976 until his retirement in March 2012, as an investment analyst and since 1999 as Senior Investment Officer. From 1981 to March 2012, Mr. Gordon was involved in the analysis and selection of equity investments, specifically in the areas of technology and telecommunications, and participated in the management of investment portfolios for the State Farm Companies and its Associates' Mutual Funds. Mr. Gordon serves on the Board of Directors of Westminster Village, Inc. and Linear Technology Corporation. Mr. Gordon received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan in 1971 and an M.B.A. from Illinois State University in 1981. Mr. Gordon is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Brandon Schmalzel earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Arizona University and has been with Liberty Reach since 2016. Brandon has a knack for industrializing equipment for continuous uptime in challenging environments, and enjoys building diverse teams capable of solving complex problems. He believes that empathy and collaboration are mainstays of a successful program. In his free time, Brandon enjoys camping, barbell exercises and pashminas.
